Siculus, Platonis auditor, cui vitio datum, quod quaestu Philosophiam habuerit, dicta, quae sub Praeceptore audiverat, colligendo, ac deinde in Sicilia venditando; unde adgium, Verba importat Hermodorus. Item Philosophus Ephesius, quem in Italia exulantem, Pomp. I. C. tradit auctorem fuisse duodecim Tabularum ferendarum Decemviris, Plin. l. 34. c. 5. dicit, hunt fuisle interpretem Legum Decemviralium, eique ob id statuam publice dicatam. Strabo l. 14. p. 642. In Epheso feêre viri memoratu digni, ex antiquis heraclitus et Hermodorus; de quo hic idem inquit: Dignos esse omnes Ephesios strangulari, qu Hermodorum virum inter eos frugi eiecêrunt, dicentes, Nemonostrûm frugi esto, alioqui cum aliis eiciatur. Item alius Hermodorus Salamin. qui cum Philo ne Architecto Athenis contendit de armamentario faciendo, qua in contentione, ut minus eloquens, victus fuit.
